substations & modular control rooms

G2 Energy are able to design, build and install bespoke Container Solutions for both the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) Contestable Works and the Client’s electrical infrastructure.
As a Lloyds accredited Independent Connection Provider (ICP), G2 Energy can design a solution for both Medium Voltage (33kV) switchgear and for 132kV substation monitoring and control rooms.
Containerised Substations typically include:
High Voltage Switchgear
Battery Chargers
Protection / Control Panels
Auxiliary Supply and/or Distribution Transformer
LV Lighting / Sockets / Heating / HVAC

Tailored solutions

All design work is undertaken in-house by our highly experienced Electrical, Civil and Structural Chartered Engineers, and therefore we can tailor a solution to meet all project specific requirements.

14,500
Our 14,500 sq.foot warehouse facility can accommodate numerous Container Substations at a time, with a standard solution being built in less than 2 weeks from receipt of all components.
The containerised substation and control rooms are assembled in G2 Energy’s own warehouse facility in Milton Keynes, allowing us to minimise delivery timescales and provide bespoke solutions in a fast and efficient manner.

Independent contractor

We are able to utilise any switchgear from all reputable manufacturers. On completion of the container build, we will offer to provide a complete installation service, including construction of suitable foundations, cable works, jointing and full commissioning services. Alternatively, we can offer a ‘supply only’ service if required.

1 week connection

One of the main advantages of building a containerised solution is that the substation arrives on site with pre-installed and fully tested switchgear, and equipment which is ready for immediate swift, de-skilled installation. These containers can be fully connected to the grid within 1 week of delivery to site.
